Cailin Cecchini decided she wanted to be a writer at the age of twelve after she wrote a self indulgent horror story starring herself, her friends, and pop star Zac Hanson as the love interest. The story was mercifully lost over the years; the love of writing wasn't. Though most of her awards and recognition have been for poetry, Cailin does not consider herself a poet, preferring novels with witty dialogue, engaging plot, and characters "you want to hang out with for more than two hundred pages." She tries to put all this into her novels and stands by her motto, "If I don't have fun writing it, no one's going to have fun reading it."

Cailin currently lives "on a creepy old road in the middle of the woods" in Massachusetts.
